My Favorite New Toy

I've been researching cameras for the past few months now, wanting a replacement for my older (but still well-loved) point-and-shoot digital camera. I've been researching digital SLRs and the bridge cameras that are better than the point-and-shoot but not as professional as the SLRs. After doing all my research, I decided that the Sony H50 was the camera for me. I've been selling lots of my old books on Amazon and selling some other things that I no longer need or want, so I'm proud to say that I saved up for this camera all by myself! :) It was on sale too. Yippy! It's so cool because it has all sorts of automatic modes that you can select different settings on, or you can go manual and choose the aperture and shutter speeds for yourself. It's got loads of in-camera editing options and different color filters, settings, lighting options, etc that make it so easy to take creative pictures without actually having to know what I'm doing. :) It's got burst and continuous shooting modes so I can take lots of pictures in rapid succession and not lose the perfect shot waiting for my camera to re-load so I can take another picture. Kids are such quick movers! I don't even need to use the flash indoors! It's so great! I hope to get a book to learn more about all this stuff so that some day down the line I can get an SLR and feel comfortable about spending that kind of money since I'll actually know how to use it. :) For now I'm totally psyched about this camera and all the fun I'm having taking pictures with it.

So here are some new pictures from my newest obession:

Congrats on the new camera- and what cute pictures of the boys! We recently got a new camera as well, and it is sooo much fun to play with all the built-in features.

Oh how times have changed- I remember thinking that there was nothing cooler than the huge, square Polaroid cameras that printed the picture instantly.

That's great! So I guess I took a little too long getting back to you with some advice, huh? Hahaha. I'm glad you've found a camera that you like. You'll have loads of fun, I'm sure.

DSLRs are the absolute, positive best. They automatically make anyone a professional (but you, of course, were good already!)
