Random Post

I know I haven't posted in a while, but it's because life has been so routine around here that not much seems blog-worthy. I promised my dad and step-mom that I would try to post more than once a week for them, so even though I don't have much going on right now, here it is.

Scott: He's been working at a friend's house doing some painting for them for the past few days. It's a nice way to earn a little extra. He's been interested in working for State Farm for a while now and had an interview with them last Friday. He says it went really well, so we'll see what we hear back. They said it'll be 1-2 weeks before we'll hear anything, so right now we're just playing the waiting game with them. He's been looking into any and all opportunities that he can find, but nothing has stuck yet. It's been over 4 months and he still hasn't found a job. That's incredible to me since he's such a hard worker and great employee and manager. I can't believe it's taking so long to find another job. Hopefully something will come up soon. But we've been saying that for the last 4 months, so who knows.

Me: I'm keeping busy with the boys at home. Mister is doing his best to avoid eating any and all veggies and fruits he can, so I spent most of the day today making vegetable purees that I can use to hide in foods that I know he'll eat. That way he still gets the vitamins he needs and we avoid the dinnertime battles - well, the major ones anyway. Pumpkin is keeping me on my toes by constantly getting into EVERYTHING. I can't turn my back for a second before he's pulling the silverware out of the drawers and generally wreaking havoc wherever he goes. If I want to get into the pantry without him storming it and pulling things off the shelves I have to go put him on the other side of the room so I can be in and out before he can crawl over fast enough to cause any damage. Today I had an adventure while steaming some carrots for said vegetable purees. I forgot to add more water to the pot after the first few rounds and I burned the heck out of my pot and ruined a batch of carrots. My house smelled like burned carrots (and French Vanilla from the candle I burned to try to mask the odor) for most of the day and it took me an hour to clean out my pot. Fortunately it was salvageable.

Mister: Mister starts pre-school tomorrow. I think he'll really enjoy it since it's only for 2 hours a day 3 days a week. He's really social and loves to interact with other children. He's such a sweet boy and we have a lot of fun together. He's becoming less and less enamored of his little brother who now likes to destroy all his tower and fort handiwork. I always look forward to that special time with Mister when Pumpkin has already gone to bed so we can play without him getting upset about Pumpkin messing something up or taking a toy.

Pumpkin: Is just being a little rascal. I might have to switch his nickname to "Destructo". But he's such a cheerful little rascal that it's hard to reprimand him. If I didn't already know that he's too young to be manipulative, I'd swear he was using his cuteness to get away with murder.

Well, that's our life in a nutshell right now. Not that exciting, I know. Hopefully you weren't too bored with this post. This one's for you Dad and Liz. :)

Scott, best of luck with the job search. I know several people in the same boat and I'll be there soon. Pave the way for us all. Hope all is well. We'll talk when I get home. I have some ideas.

Don't faint but I'm making a comment. It seems that acorn doesn't fall too far from the tree.

Good luck with the job situation. We are still in the same boat as well. I wonder how long it will take us....Will has just barely stared his job searching though.
