We had a great Saturday this weekend. We had my in-laws in town for a visit, we got to go pick out our Christmas tree all together, my Arizona Wildcats beat USC and we had a fun date night out to cap off the evening. The highlight of the day though, was obviously going to get our tree. We went to a tree farm (there are literally dozens of them around here, lucky for us) nearby and the boys were in heaven. We told Mister that he had to look around and find his favorite tree so we could cut it down and take it home. Well, that took a while because he kept changing his mind about which one was his favorite. It really was a tough choice since they were all so beautiful. Seriously. Don't think I saw one single sparse or ugly tree there at all!
We woke up to the first snow of the season on Saturday and Mister was all jazzed and immediately asked if we could go build a snowman. Unfortunately for him there wasn't enough snow for that, just a little dusting, so his grand snowman plans will have to wait until later on in the winter (and we usually get one or two good dumpings a year, so we should be good there). By the time we got to the tree farm most of the snow had melted, but there was still a good amount of frost on the trees and it was kind of foggy, so it was still a beautiful atmosphere for picking out a Christmas tree. Here are some pictures of our trip:
Scott and Pumpkin at the tree farm:

Pumpkin absolutely loves the song "The Wheels on the Bus." It's one of the ways we can guarantee a smile (or at least an animated look - better than the standard frown). Here he's doing the part that says "The mommies on the bus go shhh, shhhh, shhh."

Scott and his dad Milton got down to business finding the right tree while my mother-in-law Janice and I had fun playing hide and seek and tag with the boys in the maze of trees. The boys thought it was super fun.

Peek-a-boo!

Mister supervised Scott as he cut down the tree we had finally settled on. He's not just a backseat driver (yes, really, at 4 years old, he is already one of those), but he likes to direct all sorts of activities. Even ones he know nothing about. Apparently Scott did a satisfactory job because when he was done Mister patted him on the head and said "Good boy, Daddy."

The farm also had a covered area that had all sorts of animals for the kids to pet and feed. Mister was highly disappointed that I didn't have any quarters to put in the machines for some animal food. But he was happy to pet them anyway. He really loved the donkey. He kept saying "Mommy, the donkey loves me!" He'd actually say it to anyone who stopped by to see the donkey too. It was pretty cute. :)

We had a fantastic day. It's so nice to have the tree all decorated (which for some reason I don't have any pictures of....) and the stockings hung and Christmas carols playing on the cd player. Every single day Mister asks me if it's Christmas yet and every day he's disappointed when I tell him "Not yet." I can't wait until it's actually Christmas morning and I can tell him that his long wait for Christmas is over. And he's always so grateful for ANY present he ever gets (even the free rocks we fished out of the river and brought him home from Leavenworth) that I can't wait to see the joy on his face that morning.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

One of the things that super impresses me on your blog is that there are pictures of you. Your husband seems like he is good at taking that role sometimes. Nice.
