Church Christmas Party

Yes, I'm a little late on this blog, but better late than never, right? So last Saturday we had our annual Christmas party at church and we were excited to go this year. The Primary children (young children's program at church) performed a live nativity scene and sang some beautiful Christmas carols. I serve in the Primary so I've been watching Mister practice theses songs every Sunday and he knew them pretty well by the time the Christmas party came around. But when it was time to go up and sing in front of everyone (meaning he had to stop playing with his friends to go sing) he wasn't very happy about it. You can see that pretty clearly by the look on his face in the picture below. He just stood there with a mad face the entire time, glaring at me for making him participate. For some reason I found that kind of funny though.

This is how happy he was to be done!

But the highlight of Mister's night, by a mile, was getting to sit on Santas lap and tell him what a good boy he's been this year (it's true) and what toys he'd like to have for Christmas. There were so many children who wanted to talk to Santa, I was glad we were sitting near the front so when it came time to get in line we were near the front. But Santa was patient and sat and talked to every single child who wanted to sit on his lap and talk to him. Mister wasn't afraid at all and as soon as he was comfortably on his lap he launched into his spiel.

Pumpkin, on the other hand, promptly burst into angry tears when I tried to put him on Santa's lap. He was so mad he kept crying for about 10 minutes even after I "rescued" him from Santa.

My cousin is coming into town this weekend with her son and we're hoping to take in more Christmas activites that are going on around the area while they're here. I know Mister is going to love the things we have planned. Pumpkin will to as long as it doesn't involve sitting on a bearded stranger's lap. :)
