One Week In...

We've made it through the first week of self-employment and it's been an adventure. Things are busy as all get out at Scott's office, which is both good and bad. It's good because the days fly by and he's had lots appointments. It's bad because he's had to spend a lot of time fixing problems left over from the previous office workers, which leaves him with less time to try to grow his business. We knew that going into this though, that taking over someone's agency has both positive and negatives. Even with that negative though, we're still so happy that he's got a built-in client base already in place. Overall it's been a steep learning curve (according to Scott) with lots of trouble-shooting (phone lines acting up, employee sign-ins not working, and other technical difficulties) but we're both really pleased with how things are starting out. It's involved long hours (which we expected), weekend trips to the office (also expected), and lots of me being home by myself with the boys (due to Scott's other school and church commitments). But it's going to be worth it. :)

On the pregnancy front, I just hit the 30 week mark, which I'm really excited about. That means I can start the countdown into the single digits in terms of how many weeks I have left. I have 10 weeks until my due date, but I could go as early as 8 weeks from now. Pumpkin came a little over 1 1/2 weeks early, so I'm hoping this little guy will follow his big brother's example. :) That would put me sometime around December 7th instead of the 18th, which I would be totally fine with. *HINT HINT LITTLE ONE* Also remarkably (besides the tons of weight I've gained this time), my wedding ring and bands still fit. I think I had to switch to my falsie around the 25 week mark both times before. So even though I weigh more this time I'm less swollen, which always makes me happy. My next appointment is this Wednesday, after which I'll be going every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, then every week. It's all going so fast, but dragging at the same time. All you who've been at this stage of a pregnancy know what I'm talking about.

Well, that's about it for the update. Hope you're all having a great Sunday filled with love, family, friends and football. :)

I can't wait until the 10 week countdown! I am 26 weeks! But like you I will go at least 2 weeks early! So we are banking on the 31st or 1st instead of Jan 14th!!! Let's both hope for an early baby! I've still only gained 5lbs!!

I am joining you on the countdown and really looking forward to meeting my newest grandchild! On another note, I am very proud of Scott and confident that he will build his own business from the ground up and do very well.
