Baby Bear is 6 Months Old

Baby Bear sure is growing up fast! I can hardly believe that he's 6 months old already. This stage is my absolute favorite. I love when they're still little and squishy, but they have a fun personality and are sleeping (for the most part) through the night. And they're not mobile yet and they're not sassy yet. Yes, this is by far my favorite baby/toddler stage. He's recently been dabbling with sitting up on his own. He can manage 5-10 seconds on his own before toppling over head first, so someone always needs to be right by him.

At his 6 month well-baby check up they gave us his stats:

Weight: 17 lbs 8 oz (48th%)
Height: 26 1/2 inches (50th%)
Head: I don't remember, but it's the 95th percentile! Not that that surprises me, all my boys have been lollipops that way. :) Come to think of it, maybe that's why he topples over so easily when he tries to sit - he's totally top heavy! :)

As a reference, Mister's 6 month stats were 26 1/2" tall, 17lbs 4oz. Pumpkin was 28" tall, 19lbs 10.5 oz. Yep, Pumpkin was huge compared to these other two, which is funny because he was my smallest when he was born.

To me he seems really heavy (as evidenced by the burning sensation I get in my arms when I try to carry him in his carseat these days) and chubby, so I'm not sure how he's only in the 48th percentile for his weight, but ok. I mean, I have to pull back the rolls on his neck, wrists, ankles and thighs to make sure he gets super clean. How is that on the smaller side? :) Oh well, he's happy, healthy and a growing boy.

Baby Bear also tried his first solid foods the other day. Prunes, for the obvious reasons. We were planning on starting off with the rice or oatmeal cereal, but were required to pull out the big guns right from the start. He liked it ok after a while though. :)

Going in for it.....

What the heck is that?!
Shell shocked
That's more like it!

SOOOOO cute!! I love this age too. I foresee lots of pictures in the future - it's so great when they can sit on their own, but can't go anywhere!!! Too bad they don't stay in that stage for long - enjoy it while you can!

I am with Baby Bear...forget the prunes...bring on the good stuff! The pictures are goreous. Ic an start to he is own look. Before he looked so much like Mister or Pumpkin...now he looks like himself. I never would have guessed that Pumpkin was bigger at the same stage! I love all my boys so much!

He is so cute and chubby! I think if we lived closer him and Brynley would be quite the pair!!! Brynley LOVES baby food. She really doesn't care for rice cereal but she eats it anyway. She really likes all the orange veggies. Brynn will be 6 month in 9 days!! Enjoys your squishy little guy!
