Thanksgiving Fairy

We are soooooo blessed! Scott went to a meeting this evening, and sometime between the time he left and the time he came home, this enormous Thanksgiving box was left on our front porch. It truly must have been a fairy who left it because they were so quiet I didn't notice any noise (and the kiddoes were already in bed, so it was a totally quiet house too) and neither of my pooches even pricked their ears in the direction of the door. We have no idea who left it because the (beautiful homemade) card was only signed "Just because we love you!"

Our gift box included a turkey, cereal, popcorn, stuffing, Capri sun, Sunny-D, hot cocoa mix, chocolate covered cherries, a bag of Halloween candy, tons of canned goods (soups, veggies, fruit, pumpkin, etc), pasta, pasta sauce, cookie dough, pie crusts, sparkling cider, a 5 lb bag of potatoes, a bag full of onions, peanut butter, salad dressing, fancy jarred olives, ramen, and so much more, I can't even remember it all! And as if that wasn't enough, tucked inside the card was a $50 gift certificate to a restaurant called Typhoon! We were just so amazed and humbled at the generosity extended to us that we both got teary-eyed and said a prayer of gratitude for our "Thanksgiving fairy". Whoever you are, if you read this blog, THANK YOU! That doesn't even say it enough.

We might be on a tight budget since Scott's been out of work, but we have been soooo blessed these past few months by so many people who truly are earthly angels that have been looking out for us. We are so grateful for our families and friends who are always trying to ease our burdens during this tough time. We love you so much and appreciate all your love, support and prayers on our behalf. It's so humbling to know that our Heavenly Father is so mindful of our needs and has consistently been meeting them, if not through steady work yet (and we know that's coming), then through all the earthly angels who He has surrounded us with. Without them these past few months would've been much more stressful.
This is the time of year that we reflect on all the blessings in our lives and I can't say enough how grateful I am for all my family and friends that I've made and for the life I've built together with Scott. Our sons are happy and healthy, Scott and I are also happy and healthy, we have no debt (except the mortgage) hanging over our heads, we have two cars that don't have any problems, we have a home with a small mortgage, we are surrounded by people who want to help us however they can, and we have the strength of our faith to bless our lives. What a charmed life I lead......

Reading about your Thanksgiving Fairy brought tears to my eyes and memories of the sweet blessings we received when we were unemployed several years ago.

Marissa, I don't often read your blog but something today took me to it. Now I know who is was and I'm glad I listened to that little voice. To those who are faithful to Him, He will continue to bless and you and Scott are living witnesses of your faith. Jack and I are so blessed to have met you and your family and we will pray for a job for Scott and rest assured it will happen in God's time. Have a great Thanksgiving and give our best to your family (and mine)!!!!!

Your Thanksgiving Fairy is a special story. It brings joy to my soul to hear of such a wonderful gift of love. My husband has such a sweet story similar to this when he was a young boy. It truly is a lesson of humility, love, compassion, and reflection. It is our Savior who motivates us to do things like this for others. Love you guys.
