We had a great weekend here in our neck of the woods. My sister Kristen and her mom Karen came into town this weekend to make some more wedding decisions and I loved spending time with my mom and Kristen and Karen all day Saturday. We got to eat some great peruvian food and I had a great time getting to know Karen better. Scott (being the awesome husband that he is) volunteered to watch the boys all day for me so I could go out and be with the girls all day. He wasn't totally alone though. His parents came into town for the day and they all got to spend a while together and hanging out with the boys. But I think I've had so many girls nights or days lately I need to reciprocate for him soon. Scott's the best. :)
But anyway, Kristen picked out her photographer (the same people who did our wedding, engagement, and 2 family photo shoots - they are FANTASTIC) and the lady who will be making her cake. We got to do two cake testings and it was such an easy decision. The lady from Dream Cakes works magic with her ingredients. Seriously - I've never had better cake EVER. In my life. Ever. They were that good. Kristen also picked out "The Dress" and it's getting picked up today, I believe. It was the same one she fell in love with on her last trip, but two more got added to the mix this weekend and she had a tough decision. I mean, it must be rough to look stunning in everything you try on.... :)
Easter Sunday was a great day. We went to church in the morning and came home for naps and a little golf (hello, Masters). Then we headed over to my parents' house for Easter dinner with them, Karen and some of my parents' neighbors who have become like family. Unfortunately Kristen had to fly back to California that morning so I had to say my goodbyes on Saturday night (but I sent her off with some amazing hot cocoa and a promise to learn to can her favorite blueberry jam this summer, hehe).
It was an amazing, if whirlwind weekend, and I loved every minute of it. But I might need a nap today to recover from all the activity of the weekend. :)

I am so glad that Scott was able to watch the boys so you could spend the day with us. We had such a great day and such a sugar high from the cake tastings.
Awww, thanks for the kind words! Yep, I'm with you on the cake - it's best I've ever tried. Absolutely amazing.
I'm so excited to get hitched up north. What fun!
Thank goodness for wonderful husbands who take on the mothering duties so we can get a break. We're really lucky! Mariss, it sounds like you have so much fun where you're living--so much family, so many friends there. When I read your blog it makes me want to move to Washington!
