This weekend Scott and I went to Eugene to visit with Scott's family a bit and enjoy some good old-fashioned, soaking wet, fall-in-the-Northwest football. Actually, we were surprised that it rained b/c September is usually the month with the most reliably beautiful weather of the year. But as the saying goes, "It never rains at Autzen Stadium." Right. Well, it sure did drizzle really hard then! I was kind of prepared for it though. I remembered to bring my rain jacket but somehow thought that flip flops would be adequate footwear. Hmmmmm...... Well fortunately Scott loves me a ton and brought some trash bags to tie around my ankles. It rained (ahem - drizzled hard) into the third quarter and even though it wasn't cold out, being damp and having the wind blow on you isn't that fun. Scott even bit the bullet and bought me a teeny $4 hot chocolate so I could warm up. Thanks babe!Actually, I think I've been really lucky with the Duck games. In the seven years I've lived in the Northwest this was the first time I've ever been rained on at a game. No small feat in this part of the country. Even the November games were dry for me. I guess my luck couldn't hold out forever.

Dampness aside, we had a great time! The Ducks beat #18 Utah and we enjoyed some grown up time together with Scott's parents and sister Andrea and her husband Tim. In a nice coincidence, my mom was going to the Eugene area to visit my aunt (who lives in the area), so she was able to watch the boys for us. Mister got an extra special treat - Mom took him down on the train with her on Friday. He's been to the train station plenty of times to pick people up, but he's never actually gotten to ride the train, so he was super excited about that. We kept Pumpkin with us so Mom could have some nice one-on-one time with Mister. When we saw him again he couldn't wait to tell us all about it and is still talking about his fun train ride with Grandma. :)We love football season. It's the best sports season of the year and falls in the best season of the year: autumn. And don't even get me started on how the Faith Hill song before Sunday night football gets me feeling giddy. That followed by the national anthem before the game and I've got goosebumps. YAY FOR FOOTBALL! Thanks Milton and Janice for having us this weekend.

Wow what a fun time. I just love how you two go to Games together. James can't stand Football, so I don't think we'll ever have that opportunity. Looks like a lot of fun.
I had such a good time with Mister on the train! His face just lights up. And Martha and I had a terrific time with both the boys on Saturday. I love to hear them laugh together. They were go good for us.
Loving the bags on your feet!!! The things you'll do for football!
