Play Date and Museum Trip

The boys and I went over to a friend's house for a play date last week. They live out in the country so there's lots of space to run around and tire themselves out. We took a walk to another house in the neighborhood that has all sorts of animals. Fortunately when we got there the man who owns the house was about to feed the animals so he did it right over at the fence so the kids could get up close to them. There were a few llamas, goats and a sweet donkey named Oscar. After the animals had finished eating and wandered away from the fence the man brought out some baby chicks and turkey chicks for the boys to look at and hold. Mister LOVED it and held both the chicks and the turkeys a few times. He kept laughing because their little feet kept tickling his hand. Pumpkin, on the other hand was totally freaked out and wouldn't get within 20 feet of us when the chicks were out.

Look, a smile from Pumpkin!

Saturday was my dad's birthday and we all took a trip out to the Air and Space museum in the area. We've been by there before but never stopped in. Let me just say that the boys were in HEAVEN! They were so in awe of the huge airplanes, it was darling to see. After a while the museum got old and they spent the rest of the afternoon alternating between taking rides on this awesome plane ride (which was free - nearly unheard of at these expensive museums!) and the huge play structure outside. Between this trip and the surprise visit from my sister Kristen and my aunts Martha and Letty, we had an amazing day. It was so nice to spend the day with so much family that I don't get to see very often. Great day!

The visit with the animals can be scary to most little kids. Glad Mister enjoyed it. We had a great time with you all at the museum. Thanks for joining us for the day.
