We had a wonderful long weekend visiting Scott's family for the holiday last weekend. We spent Saturday at the lake, even though it wasn't that warm. Hey, it wasn't raining and the sun was out, so we went with it anyway. :) Unfortunately I had a bad reaction to some sunscreen I used on my face (which was the super gentle formula for kids, and both my kids were fine) and I broke out in an awesome, puffy, burning red rash all over my face. It's still there now, but it's dimmed a bit and hurts less. I'm hoping it'll be gone by the weekend.
Pumpkin found Nana's snow globe and was totally fascinated by it. He loves snow globes!
Pumpkin refused naps the whole weekend so he was much more tired at night than he usually is. Normally he's quite the little night owl if we let him. But all that playing with all his cousins really tired him out. Here he fell asleep watching a movie with his cousins while waiting for it to get dark enough to do fireworks. He was out like a light and we just put him to bed. Fortunately he was so tired he slept right through the fireworks show that was going on not too far from the bedroom window where he was sleeping.
Mister can be quite the daredevil, but sometimes he surprises us and is super cautious. He thought the fireworks were a little too intense for his liking so he dashed inside and donned protective eyewear. :)
We had a great time and we're getting geared up for our next adventure: A week at the coast! We're so excited to have my dad and step-mom coming into town to visit us from Missouri. Although it might feel like winter weather at the coast compared to what they've got in Missouri right now. :) But we are excited to spend quality time with them and enjoy the coast. Till next week!

Looks like such a fun weekend. I'm glad Mister is enjoying the fireworks more. I remember how scared of them he used to be. Love the sunglasses idea - I've totally wanted to do that before :)
So sorry about your allergic reaction. Hope you're better soon!
Whoa! I cannot believe how much Mister has changed! They're all just growing so much!
oh, that looks like fun.
I reacted to sunscreen when I was pregnant, never as bad as your case.
I found that i could only use face creams with sunscreen in them while I was pregnant.
I love the protected eye wear.
Your kids are so cute.
You guys travel more than we do these days!! Have fun at the coast!
Glad you had such a wonderful time with the Giffords. My grandsons amaze me with how fast they are growing and all their little acts surprise me and make me laugh!
Marissa your pictures of 4th of July are great. The kids look so happy. Maybe next year Pumpkin will be awake for the fireworks. Mister had the right idea about donning his sunglasses for the bright fireworks!
Have a great time with your Dad Steve, and your Step-Mom Liz. The ocean is a perfect place to be and I know that the kids will have fun there too!

What a fun Fourth! I just *kind of* wish you guys had been able to come down to the reunion too! I miss you guys and want to see your baby belly! :)
I love your blog!!! It's on my list now so I'll check back often! xoxo, Susie
