Frogs, snails and puppy dog tails

Well, well, well...... We had our ultrasound this morning (by far one of my most favorite moments in life) to get a sneak peek at our little bundle of joy and we were able to find out that we're having ANOTHER BOY!!! Honestly, we are really excited about adding another boy to our little family. It seems like most people were hoping we'd have a girl, but we honestly didn't care what we got, just as long as it was healthy. And judging from what we saw and were told at our appointment this morning, everything looks normal. And it was super obvious that it was a boy. There was no mistaking it. :) I was actually starting to lean toward hoping it was a boy, just because everyone else wanted it to be a girl, so I wanted SOMEONE to be thrilled if it were a boy.  I know, I know, crazy preggo lady hormones, but still. :)

Having a boy is also great because we already have all the clothes for a boy born in the winter and we already know what to expect with boys, having already had two. Also, we won't have to double our toy volume by having to have both girl AND boy toys - we can just stick to the crazy amounts we already have and not have to venture into hoarder-like territory. :) We'll just have to wait until our sons get married to get our daughters. Hopefully they choose well and we like them..... hehe. I have to admit, I'm a little relieved that I won't have to deal with a teenage girl down the line. Not that all boys are a breeze when they're teenagers, but I know there's a lot more drama that goes on with girls than boys, so that's one bullet I'm glad we've dodged. Although with that relief comes the opposite feeling of being under pressure to raise our sons to be good missionaries and strong providers for their families.

Now all I have to do is survive the last few months of pregnancy. I'm not so big that I'm uncomfortable yet, but I'm big enough that heartburn has become a major factor in life right now (Tums no longer do the job and I had to break down and buy some Zantac the other day). I know sleeping and sitting will become more and more uncomfortable and by the end I'll be so miserable I'll be willing to do just about anything to get the baby to come before his due date. Pumpkin came 11 days early, so I'm hoping for a repeat of that. They also said my due date (December 18th) was likely wrong and that I was looking more like December 11th. Based on the measurements and everything they said I was 21 weeks, 2 days along instead of 20 weeks, 2 days. But they also say that any time 2 weeks in front of or behind the due date is considered normal, so they didn't know if they'd officially change my due date or not. I'm going to keep planning on the 18th though, just so I'm not too disappointed if this little guy doesn't come by the 11th. But hey, if I'm farther along than I thought, that's great news! :)

On another note, if we lived back in the day, I would be considered the best wife ever. Are you kidding? 3 sons? I'd be a hero! :) I know I don't actually have anything to do with determining the gender, but back then they didn't know that, so I would've been put on a pedestal as a great producer of sons. Haha, that just makes me laugh!

**Unfortunately our printer is being super uncooperative and refuses to let us scan our baby's ultrasound pictures to our computer. After doing all we could think of, inclucing 3 failed attempts at installing new software, the printer has won. For now. We'll try again later.

Well, we are SUPER excited for you to have another adorable boy. Olivia looooves little boys and so I am sure she is going to be thrilled to have another boy cousin. Glad to hear that the ultrasound showed that things were looking good. *wink wink* Having the ultrasounds done were always my favorite parts too. It's such a cool thing to peek inside and see what's going on.

Let me know if you need us to hook you up with a pregnancy pillow - that thing was a LIFESAVER for me further on in my pregnancy.

Congratulations on having another boy! That is great! I like your attitude of not caring if was a boy or girl as long as it was healthy. And now that you know it's a boy, it's so cool that you are even more excited.

I really wanted a girl this time, at first, so when we found out this 2nd one was going to be a boy it took me a couple of days to let it sink in. But then I started thinking of all the good things about having another boy - like they will be friends, we won't have to buy more clothes, toys, etc.

And yes I also agree that having a girl is more drama. I mean LOVE little girls, but I have just seen that they are a little bit more emotional than boys.

Good luck with the heartburn. Yuck. I have that right now too.

And yes you'd be considered the best wife ever for having 3 sons! LOL Although I think I recently read that they think the woman has a say in the gender now, due to certain hormones she puts out that attract different sperm, etc. Interesting huh! LOL
