Temper, temper....

The boys were having a pre-bedtime snack just a moment ago when Pumpkin started getting rowdy with his yogurt. He started splashing in it with his hands and dripping it all over himself, the chair and the floor. I told him I'd take it away if he was done. He said he wanted more, so I left it and he promptly resumed his antics. When I told him he needed to use his spoon or get down from the counter he got really angry with me and flung his entire bowl of yogurt off the counter. What this picture doesn't include is the rest of the yogurt that was covering him nearly from head to toe. Needless to say he got quickly cleaned up and sent straight to bed without finishing his snack and without a bedtime story tonight, all the while wailing and sobbing like he'd suffered some huge injustice. When I came back downstairs Mister was on his tip top best behavior eating like a gentleman, talking to me in his sweetest voice (normally reserved for getting his way out of unsuspecting adults) and was really cooperative when it was time to go upstairs. It's been a long day. At least one of my boys was cooperative and kind at the end of the night. :)

On another note, I had a great birthday even though I actually DO feel different this year (as opposed to most years when I always thought the "do you feel any older" question was ridiculous b/c I felt the exact same).  It was a little bit of a bitter pill to swallow when the kids I was watching today kept asking me how old I was and I had to answer "30" about 5 times today, inwardly cringing each time I had to utter that number. Sure, nobody asks me that, ever, and right after I turn 30 I get asked more than I ever have in one day before. Of course that's how it went, of course. But it was a great birthday, numbers aside. :)

So glad you had a good birthday despite turning 30. It really is okay and the way I look at it anymore is Thank You Dear God for letting me be here to celebrate each birthday that I get one yr. older. There are so many people who never get to see 30. Sorry that Pumpkin was having a bad night but that Mister made up for it with his sweetness. We miss you guys! Love You All So Much!!!
