2 Week Appointment

** I need help thinking up a nickname for this little guy for the blog. Let me know your suggestions. :)

I can hardly believe it's been two weeks since little Baby came into our family!  He's a super sweet baby and has made a very smooth transition. Of course, it doesn't hurt that he only gets up once per night (and has slept through the night 3 times already). I was dreading the newborn phase a little because of all the lack of sleep, but Baby isn't too rough on us in that department at all, so it's been easier this time around. Mister just ADORES him and Pumpkin is getting more and more interested in him as time goes on. They both smother him (in a good way) with love and kisses all day long.

I took Baby to his 2 week appointment today. I really like his pediatrician too. I'm excited to have found one that seems so great. Anyway, he sure is a big boy. Weighing in at a whopping 10 lbs 1.4 oz, he's in the 89th percentile for weight, 88th percentile for height (same as birth, 22 +"), and 75th percentile for head circumference. I guess you could say the nursing is going well then.... :) He "dropped" to 9 lbs 2 oz when we left the hospital on Christmas Eve and since then he's gained nearly a whole pound!

Baby is such a sweet addition to our family and we love him so much. Mister loves to hold him and feed him (properly supervised, of course) and checks on him constantly. I have to admit I was really nervous about having 3 children. I've heard from so many people that going from 2-3 is the hardest transition, but I think it was harder to go from 1-2. Mister was still so young (3) when Pumpkin was born, if I couldn't help him with something, there was nobody else around to help him out. Now Mister is going on 6 now, and he's an amazing helper with Pumpkin and with me. If I forget something and I'm in the middle of nursing, he'll run and get it for me, or answer the phone, or help Pumpkin wash his hands or get a toy, a snack, his vitamins, etc. A luxury I didn't have the first time around. Granted, I haven't taken them out all together, by myself, yet either. So I guess I'll have to wait until we get into a good routine before I can say that it's easier going from 2-3 kids. But just around the house, it sure is easier. Plus it doesn't hurt that I've had great help from my mom the week after he was born and now from my mother-in-law for the 2nd week. I'll let you know how it goes once I'm doing it all on my own. :)

You'll have to email me with his name, I'm dying to know what you chose!!! 2-3 kids is an adjustment, but then it's hard to remember what you did when there were just 2! and it's nice that the other 2 are older. Good luck with everything, he's ADORABLE!!!

I'm glad to here your family is adjusting with your new addition. Wow he only eats once a night that is wonderful. My Peditriation said once a baby weights about 10 lbs they can usually sleep through the night. So the extra weight is a bonus.

As for nicknames, he reminds me of a the little Mole in Wind in the Willows. but Mole's not really a cute nickname. good luck finding the perfect nickname.

He is soooo cute, and I'm glad to hear that you are recovering well too. :) I agree...going from 1 to 2 has been sooooo difficult for me. So I hope that going to 3 will be much easier when that times eventually comes. :)

Well, if I didn't love you to pieces, I would reeeeaaaallly dislike you for your sleeping baby! How have all of your boys been good sleepers??? Tell the truth, do you keep them in a soundproof room?? ;)

He's such a cutie!!
