Happy Halloween!

I love our neighborhood! It's such a festive place to live. Yes, the Christmas decorations are always impressive, but that's pretty common everywhere, isn't it? What really sets our neighborhood apart is the way people get so into Halloween as well. It seems like people come from around the city to trick-or-treat here. This place is seriously swarmed with trick-or-treaters of all ages from toddlers up to teenagers (ps, when are you too old to be trick-or-treating?). We thought it fitting that Pumpkin go as a pumpkin for Halloween. It was Mister's costume from when he was little, but what a great coincidence. :) This year Mister was a fireman. We had to carefully select the costume because he refuses to wear anything on his head unless it's raining. So we couldn't make his costume anything that required a hood or headpiece to complete it. We decided on a fireman. He originally had fireman boots to wear, and Grandma treated him to a matching fireman raincoat (with the hood shaped as a fireman's hat) that we thought we'd get him to wear since it's almost always raining up here on Halloween. Well, that didn't happen. Not only did we lose the boots sometime in the last week (we've even done some deep fall cleaning and still didn't turn them up) but it wasn't raining (so he wouldn't be sporting the hood) and it was so warm he wouldn't even wear the jacket (and you'll see me in short sleeves)! What a crazy Halloween! Here are some pictures from the festivities.

Here's just one example of the many cool Halloween set-ups in our neighborhood.

And this one takes the cake! They had a movie projector playing Charlie Brown's The Great Pumpkin on their garage door plus seats and cushions for people to stay and enjoy it. They offered coffee and tea for adults, brownies, rice krispy treats, cookies for everyone and wrapped candy for the little ones. Such cool neighbors! :)
