Date Night

Scott and I got to go out on a date last night to a country club here in town. Scott's boss was so kind and generous to invite us (and all the other employees at the office) to his country club's all-you-can-eat seafood buffet dinner last night. Oh my gosh, it was like I was in heaven. They had all different types of salads, roasted potatoes, and rolls. Then came the seafood. They had sole, trout, salmon in a wild huckleberry sauce, shark, garlic sauteed shrip and scallops, steamer clams, shrimp cocktail, bay shrimp, 3 different types of oyster on the half shell, fried oysters, fried calamari "fries", a veritable mountain of crab legs (the way to my heart), and the true way to Scott's heart - a HUGE prime rib! Ok, so that part isn't seafood, but Scott sure was excited about it. Of course we ate really well and I couldn't have been more surprised by how adventurous Scott was last night. He tried literally everything. Even things he would normally never touch. He had a few oysters, gave crab a real try (he's never been a fan amazingly enough), and steamer clams. I was thoroughly impressed by him. I was never much of a seafood lover (sushi being the exception) before I moved to the Pacific Northwest, but now I just love it and really enjoyed last night's dinner. It was great meeting Scott's boss and co-workers too. He works with a group of really great people and we had fun getting to know each other better.

Thanks Mom for watching the boys for us so we could enjoy a night out together. Unfortunately the cold I've been trying to ward off all week with Airborne finally caught up to me and by the end of the night my throat felt so itchy I actually stuck my finger all the way to the back to scratch it (don't worry, it was after we left and in the privacy of our own car), but I just gagged myself trying to relieve the itch, so I waited until we got home and knocked myself out with some Nyquil. I still felt bad this morning and both boys have colds so we decided to just stay home from church today. Mister has a yucky cough and Pumpkin's nose is like a faucet lately. It's not pretty here right now but hopefully we'll all get better in time for our trip to the coast next weekend.

Wow, my mouth is watering just reading about all the great food you had. Sounds amazing. I'm sorry your not feeling well. Having a cold is never fun. But i must confess, I love Nyquil. Good thing I know about the Ward of Wisdom because I'd probably be an alcoholic. hehehe
