Apparently 4 year olds take everything you say very literally. Today I've used the term of endearment "babe" a few time with Mister and each time I use it I am corrected immediately. Here's an example:
Me: Mister, could you turn off the radio for me please? (He does). Thanks, babe.
Mister: No, I'm not Babe. I'm not a pig. I'm Mister* (used his real name). I'm not Babe.
That happened 3 times today. I guess I need to find another term of endearment for him.

This made me laugh. His response makes sense considering one of his favorite movies is 'Babe'. You stand corrected from the mouth of babes...no pun intended.
