Boy, we've been getting big doses of Vitamin D around here lately! We spent all morning at the park with friends and it's so great to see the boys finally able to play outside without A) getting wet or B) getting muddy from the wet grass even though it's not raining.
We have had a few very productive days in our household lately. On Saturday we ran errands and got our garden started. Mister had the best time helping out and he really enjoyed all the tasks we gave him. He's a very eager helper. He helped dig, fertilize, push the wheelbarrow, wash the cars and even shop for the new garden plants.
We planted so many things: lettuce, zucchini, tomatoes, radishes, red bell peppers, jalapenos, and cilantro (looking to make lots of fresh salsa this summer). I think that's it so far. We want to do potatoes too, but we'll see. I hope this year's garden is more successful than our last attempt to grow one. It was pitiful. Not a single thing grew except for our lettuce which tasted so bitter we couldn't even eat it. We had the raised beds, special soil, irrigated rows, etc and it was still a total flop. I still have no idea what went wrong. That was back in 2005.... apparently it was so traumatizing it took us 4 years to get up the motivation to try it again. Wish us luck this time around!
After the hard work in the warm sun Mister needed a water break:

Mister washing the car:

He got a little soap in his face, but he was in such a good mood he thought it was hysterical.

For family night tonight we finished the gardening we didn't finish on Saturday. Mister was a great helper again. Here he is happily fishing out handfuls of fertilizer for the garden:

Hard at work shoveling and getting the dirt ready for planting the plants and seeds:

Of course Pumpkin got in on the outdoor fun too. He wasn't interested in planting or shoveling anything, but he had a great time running around the deck and playing.

And exploring...... "Hmmmm, I wonder what's under the deck? Let's check it out!"

We've had a great few days enjoying the warmth and sunshine that's FINALLY come to the Pacific Northwest. I'm definitely ready for the sun and dry weather - it's been a long winter, that's for sure.

Yay for sun! We've been loving it so much! Yay for gardens. The boys had so much fun planting a garden last year. They asked if we were going to plant one this year and were so sad to find out that we aren't going to. What fun family projects!
What a great way for family to spend time together in the warm sunshine. Mister has been such a trooper! And Pumpkin right along cheering all the way! I love their smiles!
So cute! So wish we lived nearby to get to know that little pumpkin better. Miss you all so much.
What fun for the whole family! A day together planting your own little garden. Mister is so into all the activity & pumpkin is so cute playing on the deck. I can not believe he is walking. He is growing up way to fast! What a big boy! We Love You All So Much!!!
