Now to the reason for this post. We are having family portraits done at the end of this month and want to scout out the perfect spot for these pictures. We want a sort of "woodsy" theme so we made it our mission during the next few weeks to go out to lots of parks and trails and pick out our location. Saturday we had such gorgeous weather we were able to go to 2 places. In the morning we went with Scott's sister Andrea, her husband Tim and their two boys to a trail system that's not far from the fairgrounds. It was pretty heavily wooded so the trails were still pretty muddy even though we were enjoying great weather. It's a trail that people can take their horses on and we got to meet a few horses on our way back to the car. The man was nice enough to let the boys feed him some grass and pet him. He offered to let the little ones hop up and be led around for a bit but Mister was too intimidated, so we passed. It was funny though - he kept saying to these two cowboys, "Excuse me, your horses made a mess of the trail. Yes, they made a big mess." That was pretty comical.
After naptime we went out to a waterfall area about 20 miles away that has a nice trail system too. We had fun getting down close to the water and of course throwing in the biggest rocks we could find. They have a big bridge at this place and it was fun to go up on it and let Mister throw rocks and sticks off it from up high. We really liked both of the parks and each one we visited we thought - oh, this is the one. So I'm going to post some pictures and let me know which one you like better. It's a tough call.

I love location # 2. The wide trail, the bridge, it's awesome!
Both are nice but since you have water and a bridge in location #2, you will have more options for difference backgrounds.
Um location two is GORGEOUS! I'm severly missing the Northwest right now. :)
I'm in agreement...location #2. And, you look fabulous, by the way!!
Both are beautiful, but I think #2 takes the cake!
Oh definitely #2. That place looks familiar too. I think my Dad has taken photos there. Check this link out and tell me if this is the same place:

I like the trees better in #2, as well as the background water.
We Love Location Number 2. It was so pretty with the woods, water, & bridge. Whatever you decide they will be beautiful because you are a beautiful family & we love you all!!!
Number #2 - for sure!
I vote location #2! I love you Marissa! :)

We'll need to get together once we move back to Washington and have a little party. Can you believe it's been almost three years?!
Cute pictures... I can't believe how big your boys are getting! I miss all the green and beautiful trees!
