Grandma's Funeral

I went down to California last week for my sweet grandma's funeral. It was a bittersweet couple of days. I had a really nice time seeing all my family again: Grandpa, siblings (Kiel and Lauren and Kristen came into town), aunties, uncles, cousins, etc. But on the other hand it was sad that it was a funeral that brought us all together again.

I took a few pictures while I was there, but in the end I decided not to post pictures of my grandmother's casket, even though it was beautiful or the flowers that adorned it, though they were also beautiful. I decided that I wanted to remember her as she was alive, not as she was in death. So, in that spirit I've only posted a picture of me with my grandparents when I was a baby. My grandma was an absolutely amazing, faithful, hardworking and kind woman. She is an inspiration to me and I'm proud to have her blood running through my veins.

I love you Grandma. You will be missed.

She indeed will be missed. I am proud that you carry her DNA and have inherited so many wonderful qualities from her including being an amazing Mother yourself. I love you.

Marissa... I remember your Grandmother as being a wonderful person and my friend. Cheryl and I had many good meals at her house. At christmastime I made 'million dollar fudge' and she made tamales. We would exchange every year, and I so looked forward to Christmas and her Tamales. She will be missed and her memory will live on forever.
Love to all of you... Grandma Wanda
