Here are just a few random little things I've noticed about the boys lately and thought I'd share.
Mister:
He LOVES babies. He's always wanting to touch, hug, kiss, and hold them. He's cried multiple times over his baby cousin (who he really bonded with in Montana) since we've been home. He loves to lie down in bed with me at the end of the day and put his hands on my belly to feel the baby moving. He likes to give my belly hugs and kisses and he talks to his little brother all the time.
He's very thoughtful. He loves to pick out cards and presents for others and takes great pride in presenting them to whomever he's picked them out for. He loves to bring me flowers, rocks, pretty leaves or other treasures he finds on his walks.
He's a total poser for me when I pull out the camera. The years of bribes must've finally paid off and now he does it without even me asking him. It's just second nature for him now. Mom aims the camera at him, he grins. Love it!
He loves to be in his pajamas whenever we're home. If we leave for any reason he'll get dressed (and usually in his favorite basketball shorts if they're not dirty) but as soon as we get home the clothes come off and the pajamas go on.
He is part fish. He spends as much time in the water as he can, and even if his lips are purple and his teeth are chattering, he doesn't want to get out. Bathtime is a marathon event - forget quick in-and-outs around here. That doesn't happen - or at least it doesn't happen without a big fuss.
He is an actor. He loves to recite lines or scenes from movies that he's seen. When he's watching them, he'll act along with the movie.
Pumpkin:
He loves to count. He can count to 20 in English and 10 in Spanish. When he counts in English, he always skips the number 8, every time. And when he counts in Spanish he skips the number 6 every time. And when he's counting a quantity of things, no matter how many there are, he reverts to the number 4. For example, he'll count monkeys in a book: "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, nine, ten! Four monkeys!" Or if there's 2 pieces of toast he'll say "One, two. Four toasts!" It's very cute.
He is addicted - absolutely ADDICTED - to stories. That boy will have you reading to him until you can't talk anymore. He LOVES to read and will often choose to sit by himself and read a book rather than play with his toys or watch cartoons.
He is my reliable, hefty eater. He loves to eat and usually does so in large quantities. Sometimes he'll eat more than the adults do. Seriously. The only things he doesn't like are sandwiches (which makes lunchtimes a little tricky sometimes) and jam. He loves pancakes and waffles, but if they're accompanied by sausage links or bacon, the pancakes and waffles get completely ignored and he eats massive quantities of the meats instead. I love that when I make dinner I never have to worry about whether Pumpkin will eat it or not. And when we order pizza, I never have to pick off toppings because of picky tastes. I never have to base a restaurant choice on whether or not they'll have something that Pumpkin will eat. There's always something he'll eat. Not so with Mister.
He loves to jump off things. Couches, stools, stairs, beds, rocks, slides, curbs, etc. If it can be jumped off of, he will do it. No sense in being careful when getting off of things right? Yeah right, this kid goes for the gusto every time.
His favorite cartoon is Go, Diego, Go and can sing the whole intro song. He loves to sing, but doesn't want anyone else to infringe on his singing so he'll usually yell at them to stop. Unless it's a bedtime song, those he likes to sing together with us.
He is talking up a storm. He is a chatterbox and if he says something or points something out you have to acknowledge it or he'll just keep repeating himself louder and louder until you do. He strings long sentences (5-6 words) together really well now. He's talking much more than Mister did at this age, when he was just barely getting 2-3 word sentences down (Mister has since made up for his late start....).
These are just a few of the many things I have noticed lately about my boys that I love. I want to keep a good record of all these little things because they change so quickly that if I don't write them down I'll forget them later. Already I've gone back and re-read some of my past journal entries and was surprised by the things that I'd already forgotten. So glad for blogs to help me keep on top of journaling! :)

It's so cute to read how DIFFERENT each of the boys are. My mom has always said she's marveled at how individual each of us are from one another...developmental stages, personalities, likes vs. dislikes, etc.
Every child is unique and such a joy. I love watching the personalities of Pumpkin and Mister develop. I am looking forward to seeing them grow through the years to come.
