Completing the Picture

As many of you know, in June 2009 I had a scary experience. I was pregnant with our 3rd child, but it turned out to be a tubal pregnancy and my tube ruptured, sending me to the ER for emergency surgery and a blood transfusion. It was a very traumatic and sad experience for our family and I seriously wondered whether or not I wanted to try again for another baby. It took a long time of wavering back and forth over it. I was finally leaning slightly more toward trying again for another baby, but after I saw this family picture from a sledding trip last February, I knew we needed to have another baby. Just look at how there's an empty spot on my lap. The spot where our next baby would fit perfectly. I noticed it immediately and all of a sudden I felt very strongly that there indeed was another little spirit up in heaven waiting to join our family. I got pregnant the very next month......

I also love how there's an empty spot in this family picture below between Scott and Mister. I was already expecting Baby Bear (taken in Sept 2010), but it struck me that there was, yet again, an empty spot in our family picture. Perfect for our newest addition to fill. We've had Baby Bear in our lives for 5 weeks now and are so happy to have him here with us. He truly completes us and he's such a blessing to us. I can't wait until we take family portraits again and next time there won't be any empty spaces to fill.

My cup runneth over.....
