This past weekend was fantastic. Saturday started out with breakfast at one of our favorite, favorite local diners. You know, the kind that looks kind of sketchy from the outside, and if it weren't for the constant line out the door (indicating it's everyone in a 10 mile radius' favorite breakfast spot) you'd probably never give it a try. We had breakfast and then headed over to the children's museum with the boys and my mom. The kids had an amazing time there and keep asking to go back. This place is amazing - they have a water play area, a mock grocery store, restaurant, pet hospital, construction site, digging pit, tree house, clay/pottery studios, face painting, a stage complete with dress-up costumes, etc. It's truly a kid's dream!
Sunday turned out to be one of the most beautiful days of the year. It was sunny, warm and happened on a weekend when we could all enjoy it as a family. Wonderful. We went to church in the morning (always a great way to start a Sunday), but it was a special meeting unlike our normal church routine, so the boys didn't get to go to their Primary class (children's program) or Nursery (for little ones 18 months - 3 years). When we were leaving church Pumpkin realized he wouldn't be able to go to nursery and started crying. He was very vocal all the way out to the car and all the way home. "I want to go to nursery! I want to go back to church!" It was sad that he couldn't go, but made me kind of happy too, to know that he enjoys it so much. We have some amazing nursery leaders in our ward.
Sunday afternoon was spent entirely outdoors. Meals were eaten outdoors. Sunglasses were worn. The kids drew on the deck with their chalk, played on their makeshift slide, and we even played a little cornhole. It was wonderful.
